Chitty Chitty!

Kayden's favorite movie is Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. She will sit in her high chair or the couch for the whole 2 hours and 34 minutes without moving or getting upset! This movie is a GODSEND! I can safely shower before work without worrying what she is destroying or taking her in with me. She loves the songs and the little kids in the movie. And daily she runs up to the tv and yells CHITTY CHITTY at it, hoping we will turn it on for her. She doesn't really enjoy watching shows that are animated even if they have lots of music but LOVES any musical with real people. I can't complain :)

That is just not sexy!

So this fall my life is beyond jammed pack full of things. Between working full time, Kayden in the mornings and evenings, Jace taking 5 classes and young womans I have little "Jeanette time". So I decided that I would add to my evenings and take a exercise class with the nurses at work. We obviously don't spend enough time together as it is, but we just love each other that much.  And this is no ordinary exercise class, it's POLE DANCING! That's right, one of my life long dreams is now a reality. I have slide down a pole in a "very sexy way" as Anya our instructor would say. It has been super fun so far, though you really do use muscles you have never even imagined before and the next day you want to die but otherwise it's AWESOME!!!! Anya likes to remind us that sitting down fast is, "just not sexy", and neither is standing up too fast. And heaven forbid to rub your leg to quickly! It looks like you've got an itch, "and that is just not sexy"! Nurse Ashley and Nurse Barb I'm so glad we are cool enough to do this together and than practice at work after. I love you ladies!! This week we are going to learn the fireman spin so I personally can't wait for the panic button to be pushed at work so I can show those sexy fireman that have to show up my new moves!

Falling out of summer

Somehow fall has snuck into Calgary and started to throw up all over the place. Leaves are changing colorings and falling fast and furiously and it is just plain depressing. Don't get me wrong I love fall, it's so beautiful and the crisp air is just plain delicious but I feel like we barely got any summer at all. This is especially true since I spend all day inside at work where I check the Weather Network basically hourly to see if we have another thunderstorm warning and a few times seeing a tornado warning. <--- that one was kinda neat since it was new for me. Anyways I decided that I was stealing a full Saturday of Jaces since he didn't have to work and that we would be going to Taste of Calgary. Jace grew up in Calgary and had never been so I figured it was the perfect family activity. Jace tasted his first gelato ever and seemed to enjoy it. Kayden loved trying a tiny piece of everything we got and getting to play in the water park.

Kayden was too excited playing with the other kids she wouldn't look at me. And so it begins...

Also earlier in the month I did the color me rad run here in Calgary with my sister in law Brittany. The tickets were originally my sisters and her husbands but due to the flooding in Calgary and the change of dates they couldn't make. It was really fun but man my butt hurt the next day! Apparently hills will do that to you ;)          

Finally now that fall is coming that means school starts again and I can't lie I will miss the lazy slightly less productive evenings with Jace, but I think Kayden will miss them the most. Look how presh these two are! All of her favorites in one place. Dad, milk and her dolly. Life is good!

And it's only Monday Mr. Mom

Starting on June 10 I went back to work full time! I may or may not have spent the morning crying and this continued the entire drive to work and whenever any one looked at me. To say I was a mess that day would have been the worlds largest understatement! I missed my baby so much and 8 hours of being away was the longest I had gone without seeing her before! It has gotten a lot easier to go now as the time passes expect those mornings when I leave and she just stands at the door and cries! :( That just breaks my heart but luckily Jace has been the greatest Mr. Mom!!! Kayden ADORES him and they love playing together and occasionally coming to visit me at work!

Park by work

Sometimes I forget how enjoyable educational my job is! Jokes my job is fun too and I love the girls that I work with, it makes me grateful for the life that I have and that I have a wonderful husband who is very supportive!

Kayden also turned one on June 29! I spent the day frazzled and a little emotional (I'm detecting a bit of a pattern here, are you?) that my baby was no longer a baby! Having Kayden has been the greatest blessing in my life! She is the doll that I can dress and redress daily and the apple of my eye. I wish I could freeze time and just keep her as a baby but as it is she climbing couches and doing stairs like a pro and her favorite thing to say its uh oh! I love you baby!

California!

So Jace's best friend, Andrew got married in California on June 1. Naturally we had to go. More so for me to have one final vacation before my mat leave ends but also so we could go see the wedding. It was super beautiful and romantic and Clarissa's dress was to die for! We also went to an aquarium that I'm pretty sure was way more exciting for me than for Kayden but that's ok. On our last day we went to Hollywood looked at all the stars and went to the wax museum. So very cool! Anyways why talk read when you can look at pictures. Prepare for an overload! xoxo

I'm so grateful for my beautiful Kayden bug! She is the light of my life and I love her so much. It's hard to believe that this time last year she was kicking up a storm inside of me and that I didn't actually know her yet. Feels like she has always been here with us, which is strange 9 months isn't very long but boy am I thankful she picked us as her parents! What a privilege!!!!!! I think I might be a little sentimental because she has finally started sleeping through the night again after nearly 5 months of getting up more than 5 times a night. Sleep is a great thing and can do wonders for a persons attitude I believe. Thank goodness for the power of prayer or I might still be a sleepless zombie!

Horizontal Running

I just thought it was blog worthy to say I now fit into SEVEN pairs of my pre-pregnancy jeans! Thank you all I'm just going to assume you're giving me high fives and patting my back! This is a big deal to me considering I gained a whooping 55 pounds during my glorious preggo days, than had quite a few issues healing from my c section which made exercising not possible for almost four months post pregnancy. Anyways I'm just super happy about this and so should anyone who sees this!!! Xoxo

Sleepless in Seattle

Kayden was once your model baby for sleeping. I was getting a wonderful full nights sleep EVERY night. Than it happened. Good girl, gone bad! She got her first tooth, than a second and than Christmas happened. I've tried to get her back on a schedule but things come up and she'll stay up later than she should. I'll get her back on and BAM something new comes up. Last week I felt like she was a newborn again. Up every hour all night long and it's so draining! I'm pretty sure she actually slept better when she was a newborn than lately. Kill me now! Luckily I downloaded a white noise app and using it at night. I think it's helping. We got EIGHT STRAIGHT hours the other night. That was a glorious night for me. I felt renewed and ready for the day for once. So here's hoping each night will get better! Good thing that she is so cute otherwise who knows if we would have made it through the last couple months!

Birthday Girl, That's Me!!!

So this month I turned 23, and I have been finding copious amounts of grey hair lately. Here I thought I was being awesome not dying my hair for the past 2.5 years and now as I pull out each grey hair as I find it I realize I've been wrong. It's time to hit the bottle again!!! Just kidding I probably won't have time to do that for a few more months so I'll continue pulling out the greys. Well back to being 23, Jace took me to the Keg for my birthday dinner all alone! It was so nice to eat at my own slow pace without worrying about entertaining Kayden. So we just finishing our great meal and the waitress comes to say Happy Birthday and I was saying how birthdays aren't really my thing since I don't like getting older and she so sweetly says oh you can't be any more than 27 or 28. KILL ME NOW!!! WHY DO I LOOK LIKE AN OLD LADY!!! Bearing children must age you like crazy since people use to think I was a teenager. To bad we had already tipped her, and may I say it was a nice tip. So now you see why I wanna dye my hair, get rid of my greys and look young again!
